Lake Chūzenji
Lake Chūzenji is a mountain lake at about 1,270 metres in Nikkō National Park, formed when an eruption of Mount Nantai dammed a valley. Its shore holds the Chūzenji temple, the Futarasan Shrine's lakeside sanctuary and former embassy villas, and sightseeing boats cross it from spring to autumn. It lies about 20 km west of central Nikkō.
