Oppidum d'Ensérune

The Oppidum d'Ensérune is the excavated site of a hilltop town between Béziers and Narbonne, lived in from the 6th century BC to the 1st century AD. Visitors walk among house foundations and grain silos cut into the rock, see the finds in the on-site museum, and look down over the radiating fields of the Étang de Montady, drained in the 13th century.
