Djúpalónssandur

Djúpalónssandur is a bay of black sand and smooth volcanic pebbles on the south coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, within Snæfellsjökull National Park. A path leads from the car park through the Dritvík lava field past rock pools to the beach, framed by cliffs and sea stacks. Visitors are asked not to take the pebbles away.
