Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg
The Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg stands at 757 metres on a spur of the Vosges above the Alsace plain, west of Sélestat. First recorded in 1147 and wrecked by Swedish troops in 1633, it was rebuilt from 1901 to 1908 for Emperor Wilhelm II by the architect Bodo Ebhardt, as he judged it looked around 1500. Visitors tour its rooms, ramparts and keep.
