Glen Canyon Dam

Glen Canyon Dam is a concrete arch dam on the Colorado River at Page, built between 1956 and 1966 to create Lake Powell. It stands 216 metres high; the steel arch of the Glen Canyon Dam Bridge, opened in 1959, crosses the canyon just downstream. The Carl Hayden Visitor Center on the west side has exhibits and is the starting point of guided tours of the dam.
