Bellver Castle

Bellver Castle is a 14th-century Gothic castle on a wooded hill 3 km west of central Palma, built for King James II of Mallorca. Its plan is circular: a round courtyard ringed by two storeys of arcades, with three round towers and a freestanding keep linked by a bridge. Once a royal residence and later a military prison, it now houses Palma's city history museum.
