Museo Canova

Museo Canova in Possagno, the sculptor's birthplace, holds plaster models, terracotta sketches and marbles from Antonio Canova's studio in Rome. The basilica-shaped Gypsotheca was built in 1834–1836 by Francesco Lazzari for Canova's half-brother Giovanni Battista Sartori and extended by Carlo Scarpa in 1957; Canova's birth house shows his paintings.
