Predjama Castle

Predjama Castle is a Renaissance castle built into the mouth of a cave in a cliff face, about 11 km from Postojna. First recorded in 1274, it was the seat of the 15th-century knight Erasmus of Lueg; the present building dates from 1570 and stands against the cliff beneath the original medieval fortification.
