Fort VII

Fort VII is a 19th-century Prussian fort in Poznań where Nazi Germany opened a concentration camp in October 1939, the first in occupied Poland. The museum counts around 4,500 prisoners who died there. Today the Museum of Martyrdom of the Wielkopolska Region shows the brick casemates, the prisoners' cells and exhibitions on those held here.
