Municipal House
Municipal House is an Art Nouveau civic building on Náměstí Republiky beside the Powder Tower, designed by Osvald Polívka and Antonín Balšánek and opened in 1912. Czechoslovak independence was declared here in 1918. Guided tours lead through Smetana Hall, a concert hall under a glass dome, and salons decorated by Alfons Mucha and other Czech artists.
