Château de Rambouillet

The Château de Rambouillet, southwest of Paris, was a royal and imperial residence and, from 1896 to 2009, the summer residence of the French presidents. Visitors see the château with its medieval crenellated tower and state rooms, and in the park the Queen's Dairy built for Marie Antoinette and the Chaumière aux coquillages, a cottage lined with shells.
