Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland

Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland is a geothermal park in a scenic reserve about 27 km south of Rotorua, on the road to Taupō, run by a Te Arawa tribal company. Walking tracks pass collapsed craters, boiling mud pools, the steaming Champagne Pool with its orange rim and the coloured Artist's Palette, and the Lady Knox Geyser is set off each morning.
