Jätkänkynttilä Bridge is a cable-stayed road bridge over the Kemijoki river in Rovaniemi, opened on 28 September 1989 as the first of its kind for road traffic in Finland. It is 320 metres long, with footpaths and cycle paths on both sides, and its pylon of two concrete pillars ends in slanted tops lit at night, like the log torch it is named after.

Rovaniemi Church is the Lutheran parish church in the centre of Rovaniemi, designed by Bertel Liljequist and completed in 1950; the earlier church of 1817 was burnt down in the Lapland War in 1944. Inside, Lennart Segerstråle's 14-metre altar fresco The Source of Life (1951) shows Christ between the two thieves against a Lapland landscape.
