Cape St. Vincent

Cape St. Vincent is a headland in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, about six kilometres from Sagres, and the southwesternmost point of mainland Portugal. Its cliffs rise almost vertically to about 75 metres above the Atlantic. At the tip stands a 24-metre lighthouse, built in 1846 over the ruins of a 16th-century Franciscan convent.
