Mozart Residence

The Mozart Residence on Makartplatz, also called the Tanzmeisterhaus, was the home of the Mozart family from 1773 to 1787; Wolfgang Amadeus lived here from the age of 17 to 25. Badly damaged by a bomb in 1944 and later rebuilt, it reopened in 1996 as a museum of the Mozarteum Foundation, with instruments, documents and family portraits.
