Olavinlinna

Olavinlinna is a stone castle on a rocky island in the Kyrönsalmi strait in Savonlinna, founded in 1475 by Erik Axelsson Tott to guard the eastern border of the Swedish realm. Its three-towered keep and curtain walls house exhibitions on the castle's history, and the courtyard is the stage of the Savonlinna Opera Festival every summer.
