Korean Folk Village

An open-air museum in Yongin, about 35 km south of Seoul, opened in 1974 to recreate a village of the late Joseon period. More than 260 traditional houses, many moved here from different regions, range from thatched farmhouses to a yangban estate and a magistrate's office, and staff in period costume stage farmers' music, tightrope walking and equestrian shows.
