Hofskirkja

Hofskirkja is a turf church at Hof in Öræfi, about 18 km south-east of Skaftafell. Páll Pálsson from Hörgsdal built it in 1883–85 with stone side walls, a turf-covered roof and timber gables; it is 9.8 m long. The National Museum of Iceland took it over and rebuilt it in 1953–54, and it is still the parish church, set in a churchyard with raised graves.
