Volandia is an aviation museum beside Milan Malpensa Airport, opened in 2010 in the buildings of the former Caproni aircraft works dating from the 1910s. It displays more than 100 aircraft, helicopters and engines across indoor halls and outdoor areas, along with the Flaminio Bertoni collection of car design and a large model collection.
Torba Abbey grew around a late Roman watchtower of the Castelseprio fort in the Olona valley. In the 8th century Benedictine nuns turned the tower into an oratory and built a church and convent; frescoes of the nuns survive on its upper floor. Part of the UNESCO site of the Lombards in Italy, it was the first FAI property and opened to visitors in 1986.
