About St. Louis
St. Louis lies on the Mississippi, with the Gateway Arch on the riverfront and its free-standing museums in Forest Park. The Gateway Arch rises over the Mississippi on the edge of downtown, with the Old Courthouse and the Old Cathedral close by. City Museum, a play space built from salvaged materials, is a short ride west. Forest Park holds the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Saint Louis Zoo, the Missouri History Museum and the Science Center, and the Cathedral Basilica, lined with mosaics, stands on the way there. The Missouri Botanical Garden and the Anheuser-Busch Brewery lie south of the centre. Two or three days cover the city.
