Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area
Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area lies at 1,800 to 2,996 metres in the mountains of Heping District, about 50 km by road north-east of central Taichung, in a former logging area. Trails through cypress, hemlock and fir forest lead to the Divine Tree, a 2,000-year-old red cypress, and the area is known in Taiwan for mountain birds such as the Swinhoe's pheasant.
