228 Peace Memorial Park

228 Peace Memorial Park in Zhongzheng district, laid out in 1908 as Taihoku New Park, was renamed in 1996 in memory of the victims of the 28 February 1947 incident and the repression that followed. It has ponds, pavilions, a bandshell, the National Taiwan Museum at its north end and the Taipei 228 Memorial Museum in its old radio station.
