St. Mary's Cathedral

St. Mary's Cathedral, the Toomkirik, is the Lutheran cathedral on Toompea hill and the oldest church in Tallinn, founded in the 13th century after the Danish conquest. Rebuilt after the fire of 1684, it holds a pulpit and altarpiece by Christian Ackermann, carved tombs of Swedish and Russian commanders and many noble coats of arms; the Baroque tower dates from 1778–1779.
