Town Hall Square

Town Hall Square is the main square of Tartu's old town, closed at one end by the Town Hall, built between 1782 and 1789 after the great fire to designs by Johann Heinrich Bartholomäus Walther. It is lined with classicist houses, among them the Leaning House, and the fountain Kissing Students stands in front of the Town Hall. Festivals such as the Hanseatic Days are held here.
