Toirano Caves

The Toirano Caves are a karst cave system near the village of Toirano, inland from the Ligurian coast, open to visitors since 1953. A guided route of about 1.3 km links the Bàsura cave, discovered in 1950 and known for cave-bear bones and the footprints of prehistoric people, with the Santa Lucia Inferiore cave and its stalactites and aragonite crystals.
