Caffè San Marco

Caffè San Marco is a coffeehouse in Trieste, opened in 1914 on the ground floor of a building in Via Cesare Battisti. Its Secession-style rooms keep marble tables, brass chandeliers and a ceiling painted with coffee leaves. Writers such as Italo Svevo and James Joyce are associated with it, and it also has a bookshop and a restaurant.
