Torre dei Lamberti

The Torre dei Lamberti is an 84-metre medieval tower beside Piazza delle Erbe in Verona, begun in 1172. After lightning brought down its top in 1403 it was rebuilt and raised between 1448 and 1464 with an octagonal bell chamber, and the clock was added in 1779. Visitors climb the stairs or take a glass lift to the panoramic terrace.
