About Viborg

Viborg is one of Denmark's oldest towns, set among lakes in central Jutland and known for its cathedral quarter and the Skovgaard Museum. The old centre around the cathedral holds the Skovgaard Museum, devoted to the Skovgaard family of artists, along with Viborg Museum and Viborg Kunsthal. South of town, Hald Ruin sits by Hald Lake in an area of woods and walking trails. A day is enough for most visitors. The centre is small and walkable, with lakes on its eastern edge. A car or local bus helps for the countryside sights, including Bruunshaab Gamle Papfabrik, a working paper mill museum outside the town.
