Museum of Military History

The Museum of Military History occupies a brick building in the Arsenal designed by Theophil Hansen and completed in 1856, the oldest purpose-built museum in Austria. Run by the Ministry of Defence, it traces Austrian military history with weapons, uniforms, tanks and paintings, including the car in which Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot in Sarajevo in 1914.
