Royal Castle

The Royal Castle on Castle Square was the residence of Polish kings and the seat of the Sejm, where the Constitution of 3 May 1791 was adopted. Set on fire in 1939 and blown up by German forces in 1944, it was rebuilt in 1971–1984 and is now a museum with royal apartments, state rooms, views of Warsaw by Bernardo Bellotto and two paintings by Rembrandt.
