Aljafería

The Aljafería is a fortified palace built in the second half of the 11th century for al-Muqtadir, ruler of the Taifa of Zaragoza. Later Aragonese kings and then the Catholic Monarchs added palaces of their own with Mudéjar ceilings. It now houses the Cortes of Aragon, the regional parliament, and is part of a World Heritage Site.
