Loppem Castle

Neo-Gothic moated castle in Loppem, Zedelgem, near Bruges, built from 1858 to 1863 for Baron Charles van Caloen to designs begun by Edward Welby Pugin and completed by Jean Bethune. Its interiors and art collection are kept in their original state, and King Albert I lived here in October and November 1918; the park has ponds and a hedge maze.
