Matterhorn Museum

The Matterhorn Museum – Zermatlantis is an underground museum on the church square in Zermatt, opened in 2006 and entered through a glass dome. It recreates the 19th-century village with original houses and interiors and tells the story of the first ascent of the Matterhorn in 1865, including the rope that snapped on the descent.
