Château d'Annecy

The Château d'Annecy is a castle on a rocky spur above the old town of Annecy, built from the 12th to the 16th century as the residence of the Counts of Geneva and later the Dukes of Genevois-Nemours. Bought by the town in 1953, it has housed the town museum since 1956, with collections of archaeology, fine art, ethnology and natural history.
