Palais de l'Isle

The Palais de l'Isle is a medieval fortified house on a small rock island in the Thiou canal, in the old town of Annecy. Over the centuries it held a mint, a courthouse and the town prison, used until 1864; classified as a historic monument in 1900, it now shows an exhibition on Annecy's architecture and heritage, and its old cells and chapel can be visited.
