Kesik Minare

Kesik Minare, the Broken Minaret, stands on Hesapçı Sokak in Kaleiçi on the site of a 2nd-century Roman temple that became a Byzantine church of the Virgin Mary and later a mosque named after Prince Korkut. A fire in 1896 left only ruins and a truncated minaret; after restoration it reopened as a mosque in March 2021.
