Yivli Minaret Mosque

The Yivli Minaret Mosque in Kaleiçi takes its name from its 38-metre fluted brick minaret, built under the Seljuk sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I in the early 13th century and still showing traces of turquoise tiles. The six-domed prayer hall dates from 1373. It is a working mosque: it is not open for sightseeing during prayers, and visitors dress modestly and remove their shoes.
