Chao Sam Phraya National Museum

Chao Sam Phraya National Museum is the Fine Arts Department's museum in Ayutthaya, opened in 1961 to hold the treasures found in the crypts of Wat Ratchaburana and Wat Mahathat. Its galleries show Buddha images and sculpture from the city's sites, and a newer Ayutthaya Gold building displays 2,244 gold objects, including a ceremonial sword and a miniature royal elephant.
