Lake Minnewanka

Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake about 5 km northeast of the town of Banff, 21 km long and 142 metres deep. A dam built in 1941 raised its level by 30 metres and submerged the resort village of Minnewanka Landing. At its western end are a day-use area with picnic tables and a boat dock, and a trail follows the northern shore past Stewart Canyon.
