Berchtesgaden Salt Mine

A working salt mine above the Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden, first recorded as a commercial operation in the 12th century and formally founded in 1517. Visitors put on miners' overalls and ride an electric train deep into the mountain, then cross a wooden slide and an underground lake by boat before returning to daylight.
