Berchtesgaden Royal Castle

A former Augustinian priory on Berchtesgaden's main square, founded around 1102 and secularised in 1803, after which it became a Bavarian royal residence; it is still a part-time home of the Wittelsbach family today, alongside its museum. Guided tours visit about 30 of its 214 rooms, including period furniture, armouries and a 1750 Baroque cabinet with 72 drawers.
