The Castle of Cardona stands on a hill above the town and the Cardener valley and was the seat of the lords, later dukes, of Cardona from the 11th to the 15th century. Its walls and bastions enclose the 11th-century Minyona tower and the Romanesque collegiate church of Sant Vicenç, consecrated between 1029 and 1040. Part of the castle is now a Parador hotel.
