The Collegiate Church of Our Lady stands on the right bank of the Meuse at the foot of the citadel cliff in Dinant. It was rebuilt in Gothic style from 1227 after falling rock crushed the Romanesque church, whose north portal survives, and was restored again in 1919–1923 after the town was burned in 1914; its pear-shaped bell tower dates from the 16th century.

The Citadel of Dinant is a fortress built from 1818 under Dutch rule on the cliff above the Meuse, on the site of a castle first raised by the prince-bishops of Liège in the 11th century. Disarmed in 1867 and sold to the town in 1878, it is now a museum visited on a self-guided route with an augmented-reality tablet, with views over the town and the river.

Mr Sax's House is an interpretation centre on Adolphe Sax (1814–1894), inventor of the saxophone, in the building at 37 Rue Sax in Dinant where he was born. Visitors walk across a saxophone-shaped floor, turn the pages of a giant book, listen to the instruments and read texts in French, Dutch and English; a bronze Sax sits on a bench outside.

tourist attraction · Dinant Rocher Bayard is a limestone needle about 40 metres high on the right bank of the Meuse between Dinant and Anseremme. Legend says the horse Bayard split the rock with a hoof while carrying the four Aymon brothers away from Charlemagne; in fact it was cut from the cliff in the time of Louis XIV for the road that still passes beside it.
