Dürnstein Abbey

Dürnstein Abbey is a former house of Augustinian canons on the Danube bank in Dürnstein, founded in 1410 and dissolved in 1788. Provost Hieronymus Übelbacher had it remodelled in Baroque style; its blue and white church tower of 1733 is a landmark of the Wachau. Since 2019 the abbey rooms have held an exhibition, and the church and cloister can be visited.
