The Königsallee is a roughly 1 km boulevard in central Düsseldorf, completed in 1802-1804 after the city's old fortifications were removed. A canal fed by the river Düssel runs down its center, flanked by flagship fashion stores on the eastern side and offices, banks, and hotels on the quieter western side. Locals call it the Kö.

K20 is the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen's main building on Grabbeplatz in Düsseldorf, opened in 1986 behind a black granite façade, with an extension added in 2010. Its collection centres on 20th-century art, including around 100 works by Paul Klee alongside paintings by Picasso, Matisse and Mondrian.

Schloss Jägerhof is a Rococo palace in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort, built between 1752 and 1763 for Elector Palatine Charles Theodor on the site of a former hunting lodge. Since 1987 it has housed the Goethe Museum, with around 50,000 manuscripts, artworks, and other items relating to the life and work of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

Museum Kunstpalast is an art museum in Düsseldorf whose collection traces back some 300 years. Its current Art Deco building at the Ehrenhof, designed by Wilhelm Kreis, opened in 1926. The collection spans Old Master paintings, 19th- and 20th-century art, glass, sculpture, and works by the Düsseldorf school of painting.

The Rheinturm is a 240.5-metre telecommunications tower in Düsseldorf's MedienHafen district, built between 1979 and 1981 and the tallest structure in the city. An observation deck and a revolving restaurant sit around 172 metres up, and a light installation called the Lichtzeitpegel runs down the shaft as a giant digital clock.

The Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum in Düsseldorf's North Park combines a zoo, aquarium, and natural history museum under one roof. Opened in 1987, it displays around 500 animal species in 25 themed rooms of aquariums, terrariums, and a tropical hall. It is named after naturalist Theodor Löbbecke, who founded its shell collection.

Benrath Palace is a Baroque pleasure palace in the Benrath district of Düsseldorf, built 1755-1770 for Elector Palatine Charles Theodor by architect Nicolas de Pigage. The central building is flanked by two curved wings around a round pond in a Baroque park. It houses a museum with guided tours, plus museums of garden art and natural history in its wings.
