Valley of the Beautiful Women

The Valley of the Beautiful Women is a row of roughly 200 wine cellars cut into volcanic tuff on the edge of Eger, developed from 1774 under episcopal permission and linked for centuries with the reputation of Eger's wines. Visitors walk the row of cellar facades and taste wine at the cellars that are open, mostly local Egri Bikavér and white varieties.
