Gothenburg Cathedral

Gothenburg Cathedral, also called Gustavi Cathedral, is the seat of the Church of Sweden's bishop of Gothenburg. The present neoclassical church by Carl Wilhelm Carlberg replaced a building lost in the fire of 1802; it was consecrated in 1815 and its tower finished in 1825. Inside, white and gold Empire fittings surround an 18th-century altar saved from the fire.
