Skansen Kronan

Skansen Kronan is a redoubt on the Risåsberget hill above the Haga district, designed by Erik Dahlbergh and built from 1687 to keep attackers from placing artillery above Gothenburg. The octagonal stone tower, with walls four to five metres thick, is topped by a gilded crown. The interior is a function venue; the hilltop with its cannons is open to walk around.
