Polynesian Cultural Center

The Polynesian Cultural Center in Lāʻie, on Oʻahu's north-east shore about 40 km from Honolulu, opened in 1963. Islanders, many of them students at the neighbouring BYU–Hawaii, present six island villages, Hawaiʻi, Samoa, Aotearoa, Fiji, Tahiti and Tonga, with crafts, games and a canoe pageant on the lagoon. The day ends with a lūʻau and an evening show.
