Waimea Valley

Waimea Valley runs inland from Waimea Bay on Oʻahu's North Shore, about 40 km from Honolulu. Long a sacred place of Hawaiian priests, it is cared for today by a Hawaiian non-profit company. A paved path of about 1.2 km leads through botanical gardens and past restored ancient sites to Waihī Falls, where swimming is allowed when conditions permit.
